131 Preschool Development Capstone

At this capstone workshop you participate in an overview of the unit and share information about the preschool-age child you observed. Also, you turn in your assignment, and take the knowledge assessment on preschool-age development. Outcome: Apply child development knowledge to guide practice.

131 School-Age Physical Development

The milestones of school-age (ages 5 to 8 yrs.) physical development are surveyed in this workshop. Also, participants explore how to support and enhance the large and small motor development of school-age children. Outcomes: Describe the school-age child's developmental characteristics and needs in the domains of physical development.

Section - Coming in the future

131 School-Age Cognitive Development

By this stage of development a child begins to apply logical thought to everyday problems. You learn why it is still important to ensure that children have the opportunity to try out their ideas through direct manipulation of real objects. Outcome: Describe the school-age child's developmental characteristics and needs in the domains of cognitive development.

Section - Coming in the future

131 School-Age Social-Emotional Development

At this workshop participants explore the characteristics of the social and emotional development of the school-age (ages 5 to 8 yrs.) child and learn about some of the ways adults can lend support to the child’s drive to master new things. Outcome: Describe the school-age child's developmental characteristics and needs in the domains of social-emotional development.
